Since being involved with the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Victoria, I have taken on the responsibility of Rescue Officer.  This involves keeping an eye on all dog shelters in Victoria, liaising with pound staff, building relationships with those shelters, collecting dogs and being the go-between with members of the public who wish to rehome their GSP with people on my waiting list who are interested in adding a mature GSP to their family.

Over the past few years, many a GSP has come to stay with us.  Some with unknown backgrounds who were terrified, malnourished and mistreated and others who have been surrendered by their distraught owners.  I often receive emails from people who have previously adopted a GSP from me, telling me how well their dog is doing and how thankful they are to GSP Rescue for saving it's life.  There have been many a GSP I was very close to keeping along the way! There just wasn't enough room on our bed!

If you need to rehome your GSP and it was obtained from a breeder, the first point of contact should be that breeder.  If they cannot be located or they cannot assist, please contact me on email greyclover@iprimus.com.au or 0413-526-208.  Please note that any GSP for rehoming MUST be desexed, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

If you are interested in adopting a GSP or wish to put your name down for a mature dog please contact me.

Most GSPs at shelters throughout Victoria are listed on www.dogzonline.com.au then click on 'Rescue Dogs'.

I also have a group Facebook page of current GSPs needing homes at GSP Rescue Victoria Australia.
